Deputy leader of library and learning development service encompassing traditional library service, management of learning spaces, systems for resource delivery, study support, archives and heritage. Responsible for multi-million £ staffing and resource budgets. Manages the delivery of resources, planning, archives and IT systems for the service. Involved in project work including JISC projects such as library impact data. Working with bodies on heritage information and marketing within Leicester as part of brief. Previously Manager for Information Science at the Learning and Teaching Support Network Centre for Information and Computer Sciences at Loughborough University, supporting departments across the UK delivering teaching and research in library and information science the UK. Presented a number of papers on research at conferences including IFLA, many of which have been published in the professional press. Written “Continuing Professional Development: a guide for information professionals” and edited a “Handbook of Library Training Practice and Development”. Member of CILIP (Chartered Institute for Library and Information Professionals) and Chair of the Professional Registration Panel. Mentor to candidates for both certification and chartership with CILIP. Completed a doctorate in information science at Loughborough University focusing on heritage information.
